@ The Space Dance and Arts Centre!

Facilitated by some of Melbourne's best dance teachers, we offer over fifty dance classes a week for the next generation of dance artists. Our classes cater for dancers from 2-18 years of age and in a multitude of styles! Classes operate after school Monday to Thursday and ALL DAY Saturdays!

We offer foundation dance styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop as well as specialty classes including Boys Hip Hop, Fairy Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre and Break Dancing.

As well as a full program of classes that run in conjunction with the Victorian School Terms, we also run 4x School Holiday Programs a year, Senior Dance Intensives, Kids Birthday Parties, Free Community Classes and Dance Classes at Local Schools.

We simply love to dance and want you to join us!

Lil Groovers - Level 0 (2 - 6 years)

Our Level 0 classes cater for young ones just starting out in dance! Classes cover the basics of dance, movement, musicality and coordination. Some Level 0 classes cater to young ballerinas and start with the basics of ballet, others include dance play, coordination games and activities.

Level 0 classes:

• Lil Groovers - introduces kids to the basics of dance, movement, rhythm, creativity, co-ordination and social interaction.
• Lil Breakers - a class for 2 - 5 year olds to explore breaking - It's a fun-filled dance adventure!
• Lil Hoppers - kids will explore rhythm, coordination, and self-expression through the infectious beats of hip hop music.
• Fairy Ballet - gentle and engaging sessions introducing basic ballet techniques.
• Pre Ballet - learn the foundations of ballet technique while discovering the joy of ballet through imaginative storytelling, playful pliés, graceful arabesques, and delightful music.
• Junior Jazz - discover the magic of jazz dance while developing essential coordination, balance, and flexibility.

Junior Program - Level 1 (6 - 8 years)

Level 1 classes are the first step for young dancers in a dance studio environment. Classes are structured and students can now choose which styles they want to do. Level 1 is perfect for students moving up from Level 0 or new dancers in the recommended age range just starting out in dance!

Junior Program - Level 2 (8 - 10 years)

Level 2 classes cater for dancers ready to move up from Level 1 classes or students within the recommended age range who have some dance experience. Level 2 classes also cater for students within the Level 3 age range who aren’t quite ready to join in to Level 3 classes or are just starting out in dance.

Senior Program - Level 3 (10 - 13 years)

Level 3 classes include Level 1 and Level 2 styles of dance however start to focus more on improving technique and broadening the students knowledge by introducing new dance styles such as K-Pop. Level 3 classes cater for students in the recommended age range from Level 2 who are ready to move up, or for Senior dancers who are 12yrs+ and just starting to dance.

Senior Program - Level 4 (13 - 18 years)

Level 4 is for our teenage students with substantial dance experience. Students going into Level 4 classes must have a strong dance background and be looking to further develop their dance technique and performance skills.

Senior Program - Level 5 (16 - 18 years)

Level 5 is for our senior students wanting to take their dancing to the next level. Students taking Level 5 classes might have aged out of Level 4 or are taking a number of other Level 4 classes and are looking for a bigger dance challenge.

• Jazz *NEW for 2024
• Lyrical *NEW for 2024
• Hip Hop *NEW for 2024
