Jazz dance stems from a long history of social dances and cultural influence through American history. Icons such as Jack Cole, Alvin Ailey, Bob Fosse and Gene Kelly helped evolve jazz over centuries to form into the style it is today. Often performed to pop music, jazz includes skills of flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, creativity and performance style. Our classes focus on improving technical ability in areas such as pirouettes, kicks, jumps and characterization.
