Acting for Kids

The Acting for Kids program is a 2 hour long weekly class with the main focus being the development of the student as an artist and storyteller! What do they want to say and how do they want to say it? We’ll begin with drama games, move into structured improvisations and then start exploring text. This class will adapt to the students abilities. If they’re a dancer- they can explore acting though movement. If they love to sing they can learn how to convey emotion and discover truth in the song. If they write they can look at developing their skills for performance. Classes will be inspired by methodologies such as Meisner, Clown (Gaulier), Chekhov & Theatresports. Drama classes are for every child- the shy become confident, the anxious feel calm and the loud learn to listen. But most importantly they are lots and lots of fun!
