Types of Hire

Private Lessons

Private lessons are lessons where one teacher is engaged to teach a maximum of two students.

Private Lessons are charged at the commercial (peak) hire rate.

If you would like to teach private lessons at The Space please contact us to submit your request.

There is a stringent approval process as we endeavour to ensure the quality of our teachers and provide the best possible service to our students.

Workshop Hire Rate

Workshop rate is for those who are wanting to take a workshop, masterclass, short courses or any other type of class where the teacher is utilising the studios for their own company or personal profit. Workshop Hire can be done in 2 ways.

Studio hire is charged per hour at commercial rate

There is an additional per person per workshop charge, this charge varies depending on the number of attendees and the studio

50/50 Split Method (please email info@thespace.com.au if you are interested in collaborating on your project.)

After Hours Hire

We do have the ability to stay open after hours for standard and commercial hires but are subject to staffing availability.  This will also incur an additional $35.00 surcharge per hour on top of our hire rate.

Hire For Large Events

The Space has a magnificent performance and function space called The Skydeck which can be used for diverse events with the capacity to hold up to 200 guests, eg:

• Kids Birthday Parties – These will be charged at peak rates only with a $150 Refundable Cleaning Deposit. If you don’t want the stress we can host your childs party, more information here. https://www.thespace.com.au/birthday-parties
• Birthday Parties (Birthday Parties for 18yrs and under are capped at a 100 person capacity)
• Functions
• Weddings
• Bat/Bar Mitzvahs

*Liquor License conditions

The Space Dance and Arts Centre are only allowed to serve alcohol to guests at the events/functions taking place on the premises.

Liquor trading hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, 6pm to 1am the following morning.

All functions are to be pre-organised (prepaid booking) and/or exclusively for persons who have pre-purchased tickets.

No more than seven alcohol products to be offered comprising of; 2 types of beer, one type of cider, two types of wine, one type of champagne and one type of spirits.
