
Samantha Goold (Next Gen! Coordinator)
After achieving her Certificate III in Business Administration, and working for 4 years in the corporate world, Sam came on board as our Office Manager at the start of 2009. After 12 months, she has now taken on the role of Next Gen! Coordinator for 2010 also. With a busy year ahead, Sam will also return to studying her Bachelor of Primary Education. Throughout the year, please don't hesitate to contact Sam if you have any queries or concerns about your child's Next Gen! classes.

Kim Adam (Mixed Bag)
Little Kim, as we like to call her, started her dance career as a tiny 3 year old ballerina. She has now moved on from those days and is a successful commercial dancer. Her passion for dance has taken her to LA to train as a scholarship winner at The Edge, and some of her many credits include The Footy Show, a Carlton Football Cheerleader, and a dance double in the Australian movie “Bad Eggs”. In addition to her talents in Jazz, Tap and Hip
Hop, Kim has also studied Indian dance, Greek dance and Bellydancing.

Sarah Ambrose (Tiny Tots, Lyrical & Hip Hop)
Sarah Ambrose has an incredible passion for the Performing Arts industry. She began dancing when she was just two years old and has trained in New York, London and LA – where she spent 2 years living. There Sarah trained under choreographers like Tovaris Wilson, Mia Michaels and Brian Friedman. She also worked alongside choreographers for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake & Britney Spears. Sarah enjoys all dance, but her Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop have her students in awe of her choreography and style.

Kelly Byrne (Ballet)
After dancing her way around the world as part of the “100% Kylie Tribute Show” Kelly Byrne has found her way back to The Space to teach other aspiring dancers. Currently teaching ballet as part of the Next Gen program and teaching our Intro to Ballet Short Course for adults, Kelly is a popular teacher amongst all age groups. With many television credits to her name including “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Footy Show”, Kelly is kept busy with corporate work when she is not teaching. Having completed A Diploma of Art with a Ballet Major, Kelly is much loved by her students.

Anne Fane (Hip Hop)
Anne has been immersed in the Hip Hop culture for most of her life and has worked on many projects, including the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Community Arts Projects, Crew Competition, Ed Hardy promotional functions, cheerleading and choreographing for Melbourne Urban Artists. Whether it be Old Skool Funk, or Krump, she finds herself most at home in the studios, teaching. She enjoys passing on her experience, but loves to share the feelings that dancing inspires in people, and takes inspiration from Maya Angeiou, who said “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Jonni Holmesy (Boys Class)
Born and raised in Hong Kong, and moving to the United States in 1995, Jonni started his classical dance education at age six. He went on to dance with the Aaron Carter Tour and Radio Disney. By age 16, Jonni had the pleasure co-directing two award winning junior dance companies and joined the professional hip hop dance troupe, Funkanometry San Diego. Jonni was awarded the Bronze medal at the U.S. Hip Hop Champs, and has performed as an opening artist for Ashanti, Kelly Clarkson, Ja Rule, Xzibit and Nick Cannon. Fresh off the plane from the States, Jonni is in Melbourne finishing his Degree at VCA, while managing and dancing as a part of the 2008 Australian Hip Hop Champions, Beatphonik.

Peta Hungerford (Lyrical)
Peta has trained to attain her Diploma of Performing Arts. Her credits include dancing in Countdown The Arena Spectacular 2, the Melbourne premier of Hairspray, appearing on Dancing With the Stars and also is in Ricki-Lee's ‘Can't Sing A Different Song’ Video. Having taught all styles and ages from 2 to 62 full time, Peta says “I get a feeling from performing that’s just indescribable at times. Nothing compares to being able to let yourself go on stage. To help someone else achieve that same feeling, for me, is the ultimate gift to give.”

Shane Preston (Tap)
Shane has never been able to keep his feet still. As one of Australia's most technical tappers, he has tapped across 32 countries. Shane's passion is to share his love of tap and pass on his joy, knowledge and experiences in a fun and focused approach. He has performed in countless productions including "Tap Dogs", "Steel City", and "World Expo Dancers '88"n and worked with companies "Rhythm on Tap", "The Next Step", "One Big Blur", "Collaboration Project", and most recently "Three Feet of Beat". With 27 years of experience, he has taught workshops in Australia and Europe. He has also been an integral part of Brent Street Studios in Sydney.

Mandy Savikas (Ballet)
Mandy has been teaching classical ballet, jazz and contemporary for close to 12 years, and has worked with students of all ages and levels in that time. She has also enjoyed a long performance career to this day, with a list of credits that goes on. Having been trained by some of the best people in the dance industry from Australia and overseas, Mandy is passing on her years of experience and knowledge in dance. Along with her extensive teaching and performance career, Mandy also works as an Executive Assistant to Rob Sturrock, Director of Industry School of Dance.

Jess Smith (Hip Hop)
Jess is a versatile performer, who has trained under the guidance of Robert Sturrock's Industry School of Dance for 3 years. Jess featured as a dancer for Augie March's film clip 'Penny Whistle' and she has also appeared in various Bollywood Films. She has also appeared as a dancer (and choreographer) for 'Rove', 'Thank God You're Here' and 'Spicks and Specks'. Jess has performed in many Melbourne fashion shows and various corporate events. She is an energetic teacher, who is well-loved by her students, both adults and children alike. Though Jess has covered Next Gen classes in the past, she is very excited about having her own class in 2010!

Alice Quon (Tap, Ballet)
Alice Quon is our little blonde dancing bombshell! Having trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and tried many other styles including Swing. She has trained with Roberts Sturrocks' INDUSTRY DANCE and is a stunning all round dancer who can't be missed on the dance floor. Alice is a versatile dancer who is also a member of BEATPHONIK, one of Melbourne's most recognised and respected Hip Hop crew. Also the new Melbourne based Modern Contemporary Dance Company, LocREaDO. Alice is our regular Next Gen! Tap and Ballet teacher. She also leads the Introduction to Tap as part of our extensive short course programme.

Jay Rei (Break Dance)
With over 20 years dance experience, Jay Rei is a member of Australia's successful “Wickid Force Breakers”. The crew have consistently been crowned the national break dance champions three years in row and have represented Australia in 2002 & 2003 in "The Battle of The Year" world breakdancing titles in Germany. With WFB, Jay has performed for touring artists, including Run DMC and Black Eyed Peas, as well as many television and commercial gigs. He has even performed as the Sonic Animation teddy-bear-type-mascot-thing. Jay is also a regular DJ around the Melbourne club scene, and can often be found spinning discs and hip hopping into the wee small hours.
